Meet Sharon Grant, a Womens Army Corps (WAC) Veteran. Sharon joined the WAC in 1969 to expand her career choice as a dental assistant. She was then trained as a dental hygienist and embraced the challenges that the military brought to her. Initially, the WAC was the womens branch of the United States Army, but was disbanded in 1978. After 1978, all WAC soldiers were integrated into male units including Sharon. She had transferred into the Regular Army and was deployed to Vietnam in 1972. Read more.
